To insure the best quality in repairing bleach stains, these three questions should be asked prior to using a professional or purchasing a do-it yourself kit.

The first question asked is used in determining the method. Ask if the company can repair an off-white carpet with bleach stains. If they say yes with a surety, then they understand how to replace only the missing primary colors. If they say no or are unsure, then they are attempting to color match the area. The accuracy may not be there as different fibers may have varying amounts of color loss or the carpet patterns may have several slightly different color variations. This would cause a larger area to stand out. The bleach stain may also become darker than the carpet or an overspray pattern may occur. Feathering or blending dyes into the surrounding carpet would ruin a lighter colored carpet.
