Company History |
| DYNAMAX,
Inc., a Texas corporation, was founded in March of 1985 by Jim Cawley
and Bruce Evans. The company's name is derived from the words DYNAmic
and MAXimally. The main objective in forming the company was to develop
a medicine ball that could be used in a ballistic manner, and also be
durable, affordable and safe to use. The handcrafted medicine balls are
produced at the company headquarters located in Buda (that's "Beauta"
not "Booda", in Texas' speak), Texas. Overall, DYNAMAX, Inc. can now be
characterized as the producer of the highest quality and best
performing medicine ball on the market today. |
Frequently Asked Questions |
| What
weight medicine ball should a person choose?
Because we equate weight with strength, there is a tendency to choose a
heavier medicine ball than needed. There is only one guiding principle
in making a choice: the medicine ball must be heavy enough to visibly
slow the motion, but not so heavy that control, accuracy, or range of
motion are lessened. We suggest making your selection while keeping in
mind the plyometric / mobility / coordination development drills,
outlined in our exercise manual, The Well Rounded Workout: An
Introduction to Medicine Ball Training. A person weighing 75 Lb. to 150
Lb. may choose to use a 6 Lb. - Stinger 2. A person weighing 155 Lb. to
200 Lb. may use a 8 Lb. - Accelerator 1. A person weighing 205 Lb. to
275 Lb. may use a 10 Lb. - Accelerator 2. Relative to your perceived
strength level and body weight, it is appropriate to select a weight
ball up or down one model. |
