Many children think that Easter is primarily about marshmallow bunnies and Easter baskets. It is up to us to point them to the Good News of Christ's resurrection at Easter. So many of the popular Easter symbols can help them keep the Good News in their hearts during Easter. During this unit, the children will discover how these popular Easter symbols point to the real reason of Easter -- Jesus' resurrection. Symbols used are: jelly beans, hot cross buns, Easter eggs, lambs, rocks, palms, thorns, and wine and bread. The children will not only learn and understand the Easter story; they will be able to tell the Good News of the Easter story to others.
