OT 16 ROTATION: JONAH, A Reluctant Believer

This is a whale of a story with a big message from God for children to catch. Children learn that you can't hide from God -- even in a whale! Children discover that Jonah ran away from God because he didn't "get" God's message of Compassion, Mercy, and Grace for everyone who repents. In the Movie workshop a message in a bottle washed ashore reveals God's message to Jonah -- go to Nineveh. Through a puppet performance, "David Wahtaman?'s Late Night Show" featuring guest star Jonah, children see a merciless Jonah and a merciful God. Children come to understand Grace through interaction with the Jonah story and a science experiment. Children create endings to the Jonah story in the writing workshop.

As a special enhancement, in each workshop children will collect a different "Catch of the Day" fish to add to a metal key ring. Each fish has an important message from God for living each day.
