LE 9 ROTATION: EASTER, Following the Light
Version 6.00 Children follow Jesus, the light of the world through events on a ?Following the Light Timeline.? Beginning at creation, children learn that God created light. Continuing on the timeline children discover how God foretold through prophets that a son would be given who would be light to all people. Then children see in Jesus the light of the world become human. Through the events of Holy Week children learn that death cannot overcome the light of Jesus. Children explore the events of Holy Week and move farther through the timeline to the receiving of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. In the Science Workshop children follow the light, which is Jesus through the events of Holy Week by creating a Holy Week electrical circuit. In the Cooking Workshop children create tortilla flamb‚s as they follow the actions of Joseph of Arimathea from Good Friday through the Resurrection. In the Storytelling Workshop children follow the light through a story and a litany of candles. In the Art Workshop children learn that they are children of the light (Ephesians 5: 8-10) by decorating candle tins that are given away to those who are in need of Jesus? love. Mission activity: In both the Storytelling and Art Workshops children create special items for an ongoing mission activity.
