This is a software upgrade for all iLinks, that enables 176.4 kHz upsampling of all files played. A sound file, in the .wav format is emailed that can be loaded with iTunes on your iPod. When you play the file on the iLink, it will update the firmware in the iLink permanently, which will result in an upsampled output. The upsampled output will play on any DAC capible of 176.4 kHz playback. It can only be installed in the iLink for which you supplied the serial number.
